The people fly by you near and far
As though your riding in the back seat of a car
They become a blur of colors and shapes
The bones begin to ache in your arms
Feels as if you've bailed the hay for a million farms
And you've cut yourself enough to have said infinite "darns!"
When life felt hectic the most, it clearly was not
You can't do all the things you ought
The present isn't the future you thought
No one lets you continue the fight you fought
Caged as an animal
I don't feel like a manimal
Just an animal
The angel who floats before my face
Tells me it isn't the case
A promise, a dream, a fantasy still felt
Is no more dealt
A fire burns in my chest
A fire that can fuel entire cities
A fire that can light up thousands of pities
A fire of hope
A fire that lets me cope
A fire thats been tried to be put out
Thats filled my head and heart with clout
But that fire is never in doubt
And for her Id still shout
